David was born to believing parents who faithfully attended Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Reading, Pennsylvania.
David came to faith in Christ at around ten years old. He grew minimally during his teen years while attending public high school but was not substantially taught doctrine until attending Bob Jones University and reading the Scripture more carefully.
In 1990 David and his family (Arlene, daughter Kathleen and son Austin) moved to North Carolina due to a job transfer at which time they began attending Beacon Baptist Church in Burlington NC. Pastor Greg Barkman began teaching through Romans in order to bring the church to an understanding of the Doctrines of Grace which he came to believe through his own study.
After moving to Greenville, SC in 2017, the search began for a home church that had sound expository preaching, a clear understanding of the Doctrines of Grace, and a conservative form of worship (including music). Second Presbyterian met all the requirements. It was here that David came to the realization that immersion was not the only acceptable mode of baptism and that children of believing parents are to be baptized as a sign of being part of a covenant family. David has served as a member of the chancel choir, a member of the Peru mission team, and occasionally has played his trumpet in services.
