Bobby became a Christian in elementary school; however, it was not until he was 23 years old that he began to pursue sanctification. He married Jill Aycock in 1982, and they have two sons, Maxwell and Hudson.
Bobby was drawn to Second Presbyterian Church by its serious Bible preaching and teaching with strict adherence to doctrine. He became a member in 1985, shortly after finishing law school and moving to Greenville. He served as a Deacon before becoming an Elder in 1992. He has served as a trustee since 1988. Bobby has been involved in teaching Sunday School since 1988, first in the High School Class and then the Westminster Class.
