Deacon | Class of 2027
Committee | Sympathy & Service
Loyd was born in the state of Washington to parents who deeply loved the Lord. They lovingly shared the gospel with him early in his life in a clear and understandable way. At the age of seven Loyd believed in Jesus and accepted God’s offer of salvation through faith. He was baptized when he was nine years old.
The influence of Loyd’s parents and his pastors were God’s initial instruments used to encourage spiritual growth in his life. As a teenager Loyd began to seek God’s direction about his future and after high school graduation he continued his education at Bob Jones University. He graduated with a degree in accounting and entered the business world to serve as a Christian CPA.
Over the years Loyd has served in two churches as a deacon and elder. Additionally, he has served on the boards of several Christian ministries.
In the kind providence of God after years of study, Loyd became convinced of the merits of reformed theology and the doctrines of grace. In early 2020, the Lord graciously led Loyd and his wife, Geri, to Second Presbyterian Church where they have thrived under the preaching of Dr. Richard Phillips and the caring congregation.
The Lord has blessed Loyd and Geri with five children and thirteen grandchildren scattered across the globe in China, Germany, and the United States.
