Sympathy & Service, Class of 2023
Before receiving the free gift of eternal life, I was dreadfully afraid of dying. Born into a Roman Catholic home, I was told if my good out-weighed the bad, I would be ok with God. Yet I had no peace. At age 11 my sister died in infancy. This brought my family and me into a crisis of faith. We had no hope. Then three men invited us to Sunday school at a Reformed Baptist Church. For the first time I heard that heaven is a free gift, received by faith in Christ alone. At age 16, I came to receive that gift and I know for sure I will be heaven when I die. “I write these things that you may know that you have eternal life.” I John 5:13
Desiring to follow Christ more fully, I attended a Christian High School and eventually graduated BJU with an accounting degree. Meeting Jo-Ellen, we married in college. We have been blessed to serve and grow in grace in several congregations and ministries in Greenville since 1982.
Professionally, we serve together in the community in the real estate market. Looking forward, we are trusting the Lord to guide us towards increasing missions work in Portugal. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Ministry for Ruling Elders & Deacons program at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
“In Him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28
