Walter H. Russell
Worship & Music Chairman
Walter was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and lived there until moving to Greenville in 1971. Walter is a Senior Process Engineer at Jacobs Engineering. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
Walter has been married to Marcia for 26 years. They have 5 children:
Matthew is an officer and platoon leader of the Stryker Brigade of the US Army; Thomas is married to Julie and is the organist at Covenant PCA in Nashville; Seth is at Eastman School of Music; Faith and Ethan are at home.
Walter came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a child. He was raised in a Christian home, and attended churches that believed and taught the Holy Bible. Looking back on his life thus far, he can see how God has upheld him through all his experiences and weaknesses and blessed him abundantly. God has shown him grace and given him strength through various circumstances so that he could grow as a Christian. Walter has been a member of Second Presbyterian Church for 38 years. He has served on the Board of Deacons, Deacon Chairman, Chairman of various Deacon committees, Senior Pastor Search Committee, Sunday School teacher, basketball coach and as an Elder, he is Chairman of the Worship and Music Committee. He is also a member of the Gideons.
