A. Keith Pratt
Alan Keith Pratt was born and reared in Greenville, SC by Christian parents who served on faculty at Bob Jones University for over 50 years. He graduated from BJU in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in the School of Fine Arts in Cinema. Soon after, he met Millie, and they were married in 1984 and lived in Spartanburg and Columbia over the next three years, moving back to Greenville in 1987. They have been members of Second Church ever since, and now have two sons, Brice and James.
Keith became a Christian and was born into the family of God at the age of nine years old after contemplating the question: "If I died tonight, where would I spend eternity?" He clearly sees that as God's call upon his life, and by the work of the Holy Spirit through the faithfulness of his parents and the role of the Church, he claimed the finished work of Christ as his only hope of salvation from a holy God.
Keith has served as leader of Sr. High, Deacon and now as Ruling Elder as he seeks to disciple and share God's grace with others. The Apostle Paul summarizes Church vitality in Thessalonians 2:13-17 with such encouraging words that this passage has become for Keith an anchor of "standing firm" in the gospel of Christ and that he "ought always to give thanks to God for you" being chosen "as the firstfruits...saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth," and, this - even this - is planned "from the beginning." Amen
